Each sunrise sets its battle stance Placing pawns to create the dance Arming souls with different tools Pulling strings on these puppet fools
With no plans as we race up against Emotions that build a life's defense Trying to contain in a tiny circle Dreams praying for a simple miracle
Lonely hearts seek a friendly chant Lovers search for a promised grant Families bind standing against the wail Each recording their life upon its tale
Tomorrow is unseen and bids us well Today laughs as it begins its swell Yesterday shows the way for us to avoid What destroys a life that truly enjoyed
Your hand in mine as we face the present The past is but a tattered cloth remnant Ever forward as we never look back With faith, we're on the correct track

Yes we all strive for a better tomorrow. We all try to rid ourself of yesterday. Wise words well set. Reads easy and makes very good sense. TYFS.

There's always hope for tomorrow. I especially like that very last stanza. Nicely penned.
Thank you.

I think the most poignant line in this is
"The past is but a tattered cloth remnant"
You've reminded me that life is what you chose to make it and we should try and take each day as it comes, not lapse into old routines and fears.
Great work
