Cloaked in the warmth of still frame photographs Sweet paper cuts from paper lips I'm lost in wonder with the taste of perfection lingering From hand in hand, eye to eye Sorrow withdraws its ugly head Smiles mend broken glass As the sun unfolds and breathes life into once dust from its parted mouth Our lips cross paths as this last night sky sighs in exuberance Helping me stand with you atop water where I once drowned Helped redress bandages I once unwound I once though I could handle anything by my own Now I'm steadfast holding to your wings Holding your heart Guided through the darkness by reflections in your eyes of still frame photographs Thoughtlessly swallowing bygone selfish pride Repercussions come what may but for you I'm giving it all Sweet paper cuts from paper lips My eyes are only for you My angel
