One Small Step

Contributed by Archie on Friday, 23rd August 2013 @ 03:18:38 PM in AEST
Topic: SpecialOccassion

I don't know what the future holds
and if you asked me some time ago
I would have told things looked pretty bleak indeed

I was a while with out a home
there was no dream I could behold
but now things are much better for me

I still have a lot of work to do
to turn the negative around
I'll take each moment step by step
slowly making up ground

Just put one foot in front of the other
tackle each task a little each day
It's the way I can move the mountain
avoiding a few more grays

And if I need some one to lean on
there are people just a call away
If I don't give up
there can be a brighter day

Sometimes the world just comes crashing down
and there is nothing to do but clear the rubble
each person in his life
is gonna have his fair share of trouble

I hope I remember the lessons learned
and how suddenly things can turn
from a curse into a blessing

Just put one foot in front of the other
tackle each task a little each day
It's the way I can move the mountain
avoiding a few more grays

And if I need some one to lean on
there are people just a call away
If I don't give up
there can be a brighter day

This is not gonna be the last time
I face a task this great
yet step by step
I can work through it each day

Note; I will post when I can but I will be investing time in school. If you want to know what's going on ask me privately

Wow, I can't believe this has so many reads and not a single comment. Such a shame, ypdc is not what it used to be. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this poem, and I feel like I really needed to read this today. So, thank you:) I hope things have picked up for you since this posting. It sounds like you have all the steps for success, like you said, put one foot in front of the other.

I'll be back to read some more on your page and catch up. Good to "see" you on here!
