~The Boo's~

Contributed by shelby on Friday, 11th October 2013 @ 04:53:44 PM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

The air is a bit more chilly,
the golden leaves flutter in the wind.
Daytime so peaceful and beautiful
fall dew on the tree's a delight.

Then darkness comes so soon...

Wind moaning in the pines,
music from the windchimes
raindrops on the roof
normal sounds in the night.

Then I heard it...

A sound very amiss
peeking out the window
to see what it is.
Eyes wide,home alone
that sound wasnt a wind groan.

Then I saw them...

Little white things fluttering
all landing in the big pine tree,
I closed my eyes, opened them again
they were still there, resting my hand
light upon my chin.

Could it really be,
ghosts floating by?
Getting ready for Halloween
or maybe they saw all the decorations about
decided to stop by and check us out?

Not a soul would believe me
but the kitties and and dog saw them too.
I guess its all part of October charm
I had guests lastnight called the Boo's

:) have a fun October everyone,Halloween is my favorite!

Blessings

Shel,

Your October descriptions gave me the chills, but the Boos gave me goosebumps! I want to have Halloween in the US (it's too warm here, in Spring).

A quirky little read.
Loved what you wrote here......especially reading it in the dark of an October night when the rain has just lashed at the windows.

Are you sure that wasn't the other kinda booze affecting your ghostly judgement? :p heh heh

I'll sure have a fun October. It's Halloweenie, the Cardinals are in the play-offs and Chelle is up to her shenanigans again! Love it!

Thanks,

Tim
