Tears & Songs

Down on the ground
So late at night,
I see the moon
That shines so bright.

Up in the sky
Early in the day,
Can't see the sun:
Too far away.

Sometimes I see
Right through the cloud;
You're watching me,
But you're not proud.

Sometimes I hear
You scold at night;
I feel so low:
You see me fight.

I want to smile,
To laugh out loud;
I feel I'm black
Beneath a shroud.

Am I wrong
To be this sad?
It's been so long
Since I felt glad.

I hide inside
All through the day
'Cause I still grieve;
It's safe this way.

I want to see
The sun again.
I want to smile,
To dream again.

I used to think
That life would seem
To have a purpose
Through a dream.

I lost my focus;
I lost a friend.
I thought my dream
Was at its end.

I need to find
A way to cope
With the fear
That wars with hope.

I'm so afraid
That I'll give up;
I don't want
To pass the cup.

All these things
So deep inside;
All jumbled up:
I need to hide.

You'll always be
My one true friend.
We'll be together
In the end.

Until that day,
I will try
To live my life
Each day gone by.

Sometimes I might
Get pretty bad.
I'll scream or cry:
Be deeply sad.

When I feel bad,
I'll try to smile
& not feel sad
To wait awhile.

I know that I
Have got to try
To use my wings
& learn to fly.

I will chase
My errant dream.
There are days
When it will seem
Like I cannot
Forget the pain;
I will fight
With lots to gain.

Someday I will
Get what I need.
Although I'll want
I will not plead.

I do not want
To grieve for life;
I want to marry,
To be his wife.

I want to smile,
To laugh out loud.
I do not want
To wear a shroud.

I want to smile;
To be like me;
I want to dance,
To feel so free.

I want to laugh;
To twirl around.
I want to scream;
To be unbound.

I want to laugh;
I need to cry.
I want to smile;
I need to fly.

Hello, You're poem is Amazing! It made me feel! I can feel that you lost a friend and are very sad by it and just want to be alone, but also you want to move on and remember, but be happy, realizing one day you will be by your friends side again. It can be hard to depart from someone close! There is a time to mourn and there is a time to dance! Thank you for sharing that poem, I really love it. Keep up with your writing, you have a talent with words and expressing yourself.

Wayne

I want you to laugh and smile too.
I still wake up at night feeling just as you do. Its not a happy place to be. I feel your pain.
A superb write.

James
