Our fates been decided, and it's not ours to call. But till this very day, I'd still give you my all. You were my life, and I was complete But life has its ways, to steal in discreet. How is this fair, when doing whats right Is to walk away, to not attempting to fight. You belong to another, and he belongs with you My deepest concern, hoping his love is as true. To not letting you fall, to always holding you tight To never showing you wrong, to always doing whats right. How I wish I was him, to be oh so fortunate To have you again, your love was well worth it. You were once mine, and I'll never forget it I was once yours, it couldn't be more perfect. Blinded by love, never questioned the truth Waking up each morning, still hoping it isn't true. But it's time to move on, its time to realize I love you so much, yet I must say goodbye.
Our fates been decided, and it's not ours to call. Can't keep life waiting, with these reasons to stall. The time has now come, to walk down your own path. The time has now come, to be with your real dad.

No one here is a professional.
I really like the poem, especially considering the ending caught me by surprise. Enjoyable and emotive.
I have never seen fate used as a contraction but I don't think it's a proper contraction. However, if the slang is intentional then it's cool with me. I obviously don't know you or your style so it may have been intentional. I know as a plural it should be fates.
Thank you and to YPDC.
Tim
