I danced in the seasons

I did the little girl dance
in meadows of sunflowers
escaping into my fantasy
daises round my feet.
I did the teen coming into my own dance
the world before me
dreams not realized
wind at my back
feet never really grounded.
I did the grown woman dance
life a bit more complicated
but always an adventure
round the next corner
foot -loose fancy free
feet leaving dust behind me.
Iv done the happy dance
joyous and wild
not caring who saw
smile bright.
Iv done the mournful dance
black dress,black veil,hidden face
misplaced tears,heart swollen
tears free flowing,broken.
I danced in the seasons
and tonight I shall not dance
no beat fits right
moments of stillness
for there is a time and season
even for feet to be still.
