My elven princess

Contributed by poemkid on Tuesday, 21st January 2014 @ 05:17:42 AM in AEST
Topic: SecretLove

This lady has my eye
but I don't know how to approach it
she's the great white buffalo
and I'm ready to poach it
she says we'll risk bringing the friendship to an end
i guess that's how she feels
but the messages she sends
makes it seem there's something to reveal
once i was certain something was there
that night she ran her fingers through my hair
our faces touched and I felt her pair...
of lips pressed against mine
even writing about it sends shivers down my spine.
but after that night, her shoulder was a glacier
But i don't mean to slander her name
I'm over-analytical, it's in my nature
ignoring me wasn't her intention
but that's the way it seems when you're the one getting the lack of attention
I had basically given up on her
admittedly against my will
the whole break was a blur
then she came back and time stood still
we catch up and laugh, the friendship routine
"back to your place?"
my mind skips to the scene
I imagined it would be just as before
but nothing felt right when we entered the door
we laid down, acting naive
as if the tree of knowledge was never approached by eve
she was a friend, and nothing more
to be honest, I didn't care about a score
because to me she's deeper than that...
maybe you don't understand but
the girl doesn't glow. she shines
so bright i fear it will strike me blind
but I worry not about collision
with her as my guide, there's no necessity for vision
this is more than just an infatuation
I just need to know if there's any reciprocation
