LoveRemembered

One day in the future when we pass by in the street I in my ragged and dirty clothes You in your fine dress and hair in bows Will you remember me when we meet? Or will you look and turn your head swiftly Step faster to the hum of the day And from me walk away?
Don't you remember me from years ago? How we laughed and talked all day long? No worries in life, together nothing could be wrong Our future to be apart, you didn't know But I knew, so I held on tightly Until that day forever burned in memory Like a ship set for sail, you left me
Now the years have passed and here we are Two familiar strangers by chance collide And once again walk side by side I feel as if freed from prison bars But will you remember me? Or will you pass on by Ignoring a memory and perpetuating a lie?

Something most of us experience at one time or another, and it's never something we wish for. You wrote it beautifully. |
