Red death
Misery blotting the sun
A brighter day to never be seen
A dark day to be noticed.

The shadows reaching out
Burning to the touch
Dragging you down
The heart within reach.

Yet so far
Brain corroding within thoughts
Giving up seems a paradise
Losing the battle.

Never seemed so quaint
Before you do
You see the one person
You've always seen.

In your dreams
The hope
Ignites like a rocket engine
The shadows clearing.

The sun within view
But beware
For even the sun
Can leave those.

Chosen people
Blind.
