The ninth dream

Contributed by iodinelove on Thursday, 20th March 2014 @ 11:14:23 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

There is darkness in each of us.
There is cruelty and heartbreak all around us.
It is so easy to give up, or to never try.

But even in all of the pain our hearts hold
There is still room for love.

The ninth dream does not shine
It does not speak or sing
It does not dance
It has no shadow to cast

The ninth dream is left always to darkness
So that we might find it in our deepest grief
It has no name
Its proclivity cannot be expressed with words
It recedes even as we embrace it

I do not know how to name it
Only that each of us shares it
That, just as the darkness sweeps between us,
So too do the stars shine above us.

I dreamt of an old man that was my neighbour when i was 17 i lived next door to him for 1 year, only once in that time was i invited into gis home, he would accept no refusal, his house was alive with the ticking of wall to wall antique clocks tick tick tocking, mesmerising and disturbingly shocking, uneasiness filling every fibre and atom of my reality with electric magnetic energy as though the hands of time were directing dimentional frequencies directly at me mockingly. I feel to add the symbol for pi or 0 0 p or phi,,,
He told my then companion to take care of me n proceeded to search his room for a suitable clock to present to me as a gift which both unnerved me and made me feel empathy and love for this kind soul, every part of my being screamed this is wrong, i dnt want to take from another its not morally right, yet he was insistant n i was young n didn/'/t want to offend him and appear un
greatfull, so very reluctantly i resigned myself to acceptance of the clock he bestowed to me.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
