Love is a word often given in shout
Rarely does one know what this love's about
Is it a feeling that grips a raw open heart
Or is it the momentum that gives life a start
The young think they own love, carte blanche
The old fear that any chance at love is defunct
Children see love in all its rainbow wonders
Love sees us all, despite our human blunders
Within our sight lies a vision of golden dreams
Life, love are entwined more than it seems
One smile, a simple touch, a quick glance
Our live grow broader, expanding the branch
Hold dear always the loves that came before
Create new memories from those on this shore
Never back away from the bright promise of love
Instead shout its glorious merits to the skies above
