Stepping Back

Just when you thought you had me figured out
I broke apart at the seems
I was on a path to somewhere
but now I am separated from my dreams
You thought you knew my intellect
that didnt seem to please you anyway
The only thing you see now
is just a man, living from day to day
I have come all undone
at this moment there is nothing you can say or do
Just allow me to figure it all out
I will find my way back to you
Ive been on a long journey
only needing a break from time to time
I will find my direction
and many mountains I will climb
Just because I am confused
seemingly lost and without feeling
I am only backing up a bit
to get a look at everything in which I am dealing
Stepping out of the box
taking a good look at me
So I can move forward again
to be that loving person you use to see
I will hold your hand again
so that you will feel safe and secure
There will be a future of happiness
many beautiful times for us to endure
I am certainly not leaving you
my dear, there is absolutely no doubt
So, wait for me
while I seek what my life is about

beautifully heartfelt expression of feelings, sometimes
stepping back is just what we need, i think more so for
poets and writers; we get new vision,

Sometimes the only way to know if we are on the right path is to step off the road.
That takes a lot of trust. Your words of reassurance seem to be building a bridge back.
And at last you leave us wondering what will be? I especially like that you trust your readers to write the ending. It is a compelling offering.
