Even when we wish the world to be perfect, When smiles are sought on every set of lips we see, When tears of joy are welcomed, a pleasure By virtue of rarity. Even when a complaint would do naught; A cough to steal well-intended air, The sigh and slightest quiver shimmers- Only you know is there. Even when these joys and sorrows- Unrealized (but acknowledged) in our private hearts, Even as they tug and force our minds to Uncomfortable positions The remembrance of age, and wisdom, and the beautiful Accruing of wonderful and terrible things, Mark the passing of another year in the Grandness of this venture known as human existence.
