Soft Moss and Nascar

Contributed by invierno on Thursday, 22nd May 2014 @ 10:29:23 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

When moss reaches with silky fingers
Preying on lost time and time left
with equal indifference;
covering pulsing heart with memories
of things done, undone and not done-
Of people that can't be brought back,
breathing freely yet no apologies can be offered-
that is being done, that is finality.
Oh most heavy soul! My clamoring mind
makes for a busy room-
mistakes push each other side, chiming in dis-jointed chorus,
"Remember me!" "How could you!" "Oh, Jesus...not that!"
That is when soft green moss seems so inviting-
to lay down on, to look up from, to embrace the calm
of deep forest eternity- life and death as natural
as rain and wet and burning.
Perhaps the need for this rest must take back seat
to the front seat of Kyle Bush....
Oh, my.....such banal distractions-
NASCAR? Really? So much fun to pun-
The moss...oh, the lovely moss...when will my conscience allow this sought sleep?
The distraction (Sorry, Kyle) is my penance.

Nice to read this and know that I am not the only one whose brain goes off on merry tangents not of my design! "My clamoring mind makes for a busy room!"
Indeed.

i love the nature part of this poem a lot! doesn't it
figure you are calmly in the stream of consciousness
realm and other thoughts enter, at least it was about
something you enjoy, instead of nascar i'd be off on a
mind tangent about how much i love my dog lol,

hugs n' love nessa

Hello dear friend.

Nature is such a beautiful place to lay open your soul and mind. It doesn't get judged or taken for granted because nature let's live. Beautiful write. This peace put me on Table Mountain in Cape Town. Thank you

Greetings
Rus
