Morning Light........(Spoken Word)

Contributed by chard on Tuesday, 20th May 2003 @ 06:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The resilient morning light.
The way it fades into your face. Is something I find troubling to describe.
The way the light flows, through the brown in your eyes. Is something I yearn during the course of my day. Believe that! Now, understand me.. I love to watch you. Your style is slithery smooth, and diviner. Even at 6 in the morning. When were both yawning.
You always sleep naked. So when you get up and stumble to the bathroom. Your cinnamon, hourglass, captivates me. Im blessed to have you. Truly!
As a grown man, I adore you. Thats with all guards down. Im here. I speak this to the world.
Youre my right jugular..Youre detrimental to my survival.
Can you feel that?
Can you handle a good black man, now that you have one?
Will you be around, to rest your head on the shoulder that yearns.
Yearns to feel your force, through gravity. Ill smell your hair and thank god for your birth. For youre decendance. From his gates, for my protection. Well use love as a weapon, as a defense against hate. And the individuals who portray it!

Baby, I named this piece Morning Light. Cuz its the illumination of your ora that awakens me. Now that I have you, I cant be without that. I cant be without your soul.
Youre my Morning Light! You re my desire! Youve opened my eyes.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
