keep your hands to yourself,
Father Francis
keep your claws to yourself,
Sister Ruth
no one said you could abuse us,
and thats the gospel truth

stop diddling the first graders,
leave the altar boys alone
little girls are not your playthings
to let desires roam

stop bullying and ill-treating,
you never had the right
to wear the face of charity
but manifest such blight

seek forgiveness,
Father Francis
beg pardon,
Sister Ruth
the eyes of the world are on you,
and thats the gospel truth.

Probably the best poem I've seen from you.

I believe poetry should act as as a vehicle for change and fostering awareness.

You accomplished that here. Well DONE!!!

Best,

Invierno

Well done , indeed. The hypocrisy, the cover-ups, and the brutal arrogance are almost beyond belief. How such people can claim to believe in a God is beyond the most lenient of judgement.

Hi Spike,

We cannot escape the fact that there are those
who abuse their positions of trust, in whatever
industry they may be involved ...... Religion,
Celebrity, Politics, or whatever - and their
crimes are almost always against the innocent.
My abhorrence of such vile acts is complete,
but at the same time I try not to tarnish
entire institutions because of failings of the
few. If we do that then should not the next
step be to abolish religion, stardom, politics,
etc? Who would benefit? Who would bear the
loss? Are we richer or poorer without them?

Strongly worded Spike, and your anger is not
just yours alone. Transparency is all important
and we should all speak out against such
atrocities, as you have so skilfully raised here.
