my back to the water
my back to the sea
i'm backing down at sundown
this war was not for me
i have done as was asked
i have fought to the last
though i make ready for surrender
my courage stands unmasked
my back to the water
my back to the sea
i'm backing down at sundown
while no coward do i be
i have done as was asked
i have fought to the last
this war saw much bloodshed
from first shot, to final bomb cast
my back to the water
my back to the sea
i'm backing down at sundown
and if i die, i will die free...

| wow this was fear but beautiful because i fear surrender but when you have lost sometime you have to admit to defeat... but no one want to so very good job and i admire your poetry |

This is definitely poetry in action. While war is not really a good thing, the cause and reason can be considered good. Fighting for freedom is a valiant cause. I really enjoyed this.
