A single lamp illuminates the street
Where the pieces of a broken heart rest
An idea of love lost among the dust
This was a dream, a fading wish
Now all that is felt is a vast nothingness
Too empty for even tears
Hope just that distant rumor
Whispered in paralyzing fear
And the greatest tragedy
Was set up to face alone
To find ones self in the shattered mess
Down some lonely dark road
Memories haunting second chances
All of our missteps
Promise to keep us from dancing
When our greatest risk
Can hide inside a single kiss
