I pray for the children For they can see. I pray for the children Because I believe. Its the children They walk us through the night. They know The devil ain't got no clothes.
I see him a coming And I think hes a friend. I let him walk up And then it all begins. The faith of the children Will let me see. I see the devil He ain't got no clothes.
You tell me the children Are born into sin. I say it's a lie That comes from mortal men. You give them power They hold over you. You have to see the devil He ain't got no clothes.
I'll tell you about The shape that you're in. You see the children Are from the light within. I tell you the children Are born with no sin. I say the devil He ain't got no clothes
Yes its the children That will save us all. Borne with no sin They will never fall. The devil can never Harm you again. I say the devil Ain't got no clothes.

I like this poem, plain and simple.
Allowing for the elasticity poems grant to ideals, I feel caddish in pointing out that children grow up and become adults.
If they are going to save us, then why didn't WE save us when we were kids? You're right, the devil ain't got no clothes, but by the time we can do something about it, we believe he is indeed clothed.
A great write and sorry for the splitting of hairs. I think a poem is in order on this notation of mine in conjunction with yours. Good food there. |

A lovely write which brings me so much sadness because it is a reminder of the children of our little island and the hell and horror they have been enduring lately...
Thanks for sharing... Keep them coming
