i look for
your eyes
watching me intently
admiring me?
i shy away
but can't bare
to look away too long
and there you are still
smiling, watching, waiting?
what have i done
to cause this?
will you love me?
will you hold me?
because i need it,
but haven't told you
yet.
here's my hand,
take it, please
for i'll be a fool
if you don't.
here are my eyes,
looking at you,
expecting your own
to look at me again,
to validate,
to accept,
to welcome,
to love me.
i wait for love,
and if you won't give it,
then i'll wait
forever more.
