The days are one after another They come and go, for billions of years. What right do I have to slow them Just so I can ease my fears
Sometimes I think I have lived too long And ready for a peaceful sleep. I could have died a hundred times When I think of all the grief
So I stay in the world of the living And I walk with them unseen. Will they be as forgiving With the thoughts of all my dreams.
There was a dream I could touch And it felt like velvet smoke It spoke to me thru its haze And it stayed till I spoke
The words we shared as wisdom And the dream, it was alive It became golden from its velvet smoke And in the sunlight it did thrive
