This can not last
I can not press on
Knowing what I know
Seeing what I've seen
Unsustainable
This love
Between you and me
Destined to fail
I fall
To the ground
Drunk
In a puddle of tears
Foolish to wonder
The possibilities endless
I hoped that in your eyes
I would find my sight
In your heart
I would find my beat
In your lungs I would breathe
Instead I suffocate
Drowning in a pool of my own mistakes

Wow this is sad to see a good write yet sad. One can't exist through others. You are your own person. It sounds silly two can become one but one can't be part of another it will kill who you are. Be strong. Keep writing. God bless

I like the subject matter here...Placing our hopes on someone else. "If only he/she would do this, then I'll finally be happy". I think we all are guilty of this at one time or another, and it can be hard to break out of that kind of thought process. It seems way easier to see someone else's flaws than our own. Of course we are all perfect and only the rest of society is ruining things! Well said, and totally relatable.
