The Flight Of An Eagle....

26:09:2014....

Soaring effortlessly.
Calm quiet and majestically.
The flight of an eagle.
Nothing like that of a sea gull.

Nature is so beautiful.
Everything about it is fruitful.
Nothing goes to waste.
There is something for everyone's taste.

What the lion doesn't eat.
For the vultures it makes a feast.
The stealth of a leopard.
Hunts without effort.

The cheetah has speed.
Of all the cats he takes the lead.
On a vast open field or plateau.
You find them grazing antelope and buffalo.

Rivers flow from high in the mountains,
Down into the valleys bringing life to pools and fountains.
From nature there is much we can learn.
Observe the panda and the seas that sometimes churn.

The elephant is never phased.
If he steps on you, you'll be dead not dazed.
The social lives of the ape and the meerkat.
We should emulate in someway that.
The king of the river Nile.
Is the seductive yet vicious crocodile.

The silver back nurture lovingly its cub.
Not like us humans sitting drunk in a pub.
From the sea we look at the dolphin.
Now this creature is nature's good Samaritan.

They say life has no hand book.
I say there is we must just look.
Across the face of our earth.
God wrote it on the day of its birth.

We call it mother nature.
Believe me it's the best teacher.
Just take the time and look around.
Plenty lessons are to be found.

"The elephant is never phased.

What a great line! Too Funny!

It's a great poem though, Rus. Reminds me of "The Windhover" by Gerard Manley Hopkins. Gert, google this poem....it will stir your soul. I know the poem and as I know you, I think you will be moved.

Best to you, my friend.

Invierno

Wow!! This poem is so rich in metaphor and endless imagery. Wonderful job expressing yourself and paying homage to some incredible beasts. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and agree with your sentiments.

(Loving that second stanza)
