Those silent footsteps
the ones we never hear
That heavenly spirit
that always walks next to me
I am opening up my heart
so I am no longer blind to thee
Having been watching me
and walking by my side
Always being there for me
catching me when I fall
I am tired of the worldly ways
thinking I truly know it all
My heart is saddened
my eyes have been shut for too long
My ways have brought me down a rocky road
many times just feeling so empty and all alone
Not realizing your presence and your grace
my ignorance and belief has turned my feelings into stone
Your footsteps are silent no more
I hear you walking by my side
Leaving behind the worldly pride
I take your hand in mine
My feelings are no longer that of stone
I finally see your heavenly aura shine
Dear Lord
forgive me for my past
Let me walk on my feet again
my path is changing, no need to carry me anymore
When my life is finished here
I want to be welcomed through your door.
