Sacred Memory

Contributed by waynster on Monday, 20th October 2014 @ 05:03:48 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I see you in my mind
images of you never seem to fade away
You have been gone for several years
but I remember you like it was just yesterday

Our relationship surely was not the best
as we had totally different points of view
If I could only turn back the hands of time
I would listen more clearly to you

Even though we had bad times
there were good times to remember too
I would turn back time
and give life magically back to you

Unfortunately it cant be done
forever you are gone, only memories of you in my head
You have moved on to a better place
and your legacy is not dead

So when I want to be with you
all I do is close my eyes and smile
Going through memories of you
enough to last me a while

Missing you and loving you
that you need to know
We will be together again
when it is my time to go

Leaving my legacy
for the ones so dear to me
We will both look down on them
and be their sacred memory

This sounded like it came from personal experience. I lost a very good friend nine years ago & this described my feelings pretty much exactly.

It was absolutely beautiful. Great write.
