Another day in the confusion dealing with dementia, just can't seem to figure life out... the last time someone told the truth I can't remember. I can't stay on task I'm in daze trying to find the answer, I'll never break through on this strange pursiut because I always forget what I was thinking.
I got only one friend and he doesn't really like me he"s on the stage in lifes game while I perfer to stay the shadows, and things like that blow mind.... because for some reason that I can't figure it out there's a need for us to have a connection.
There was a moment when I thought I had it but it quickly faded away as a new emotional torture came alive once again distracted. I live in a wiggly world where there is always pain and I I will continue to search for the reason for the reason I need something to believe in as I am trapped on this crazy roundabout.

I take so much away from this poem. It is brilliant. I feel like.....if my dear 80~something year old grandmother could put her life into words, this poem would be it. Thank you.
Best,

Dizzying circles…unable to concentrate…distracted.."I'll never break through.." I can identify with this!
Stay with it. There is always a reason. When I was 13 I babysat a retarded child next door. I hated it.
When I was 30, I gave birth to a retarded child--I was better prepared. She is my angel, too retarded to know it. There is always a reason. Delayed? Learning patience. Blocked? learning to go around. In Pain? Learning endurance. When all is going well= we don't grow. However, wish you a restful period of dormancy!!! Come back and write with a vengeance.

I like the way you closed this write- nice! It sure can seem like things aren't moving, or at least not in the direction we hoped, but change occurs over time. Keep plugging away and know that you are on the right path. Roundabout or not, your "turn" will come.

This was very tough to read. so tough that I had read it last night but was unable to comment because it unsettled me so much as it reminded me of my Mom and when she had dementia. Now that's poetry in action.
Great poem!!!!
Thanks,
Tim |
