I don't like to admit it
But I'm getting scared
Two weeks feels like two years
When living's been impaired
I can't help but imagine
Just what it would be like
If only this once
Things turned out right
And maybe I wouldn't cry so hard
If I'd heard your voice
Maybe breathing wouldn't hurt so bad
If I'd had a choice
It's too late to cry now
There's nothing left to cry for
Doesn't do me no good anyhow
Can't even read your letters anymore
What am I supposed to say
Play along
Pretend that I'm okay
I'd rather not, if it's alright with you
At some point, playing got too hard
Close my eyes, and I lose

Oh my gosh... this is so very beautifully written! Tragically sad but touching. You made an amazing poem out of a hurtful situation. I can relate to this, and I just hope you find it in yourself to move on. Blessed be,
