My Heart Has Missed You

Contributed by ginsdance on Monday, 5th August 2002 @ 07:38:42 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

My heart is aching tonight,
It's wishing you here with all of its might.
Some may call me a fool for wishing so long,
But my heart's been wishing since you've been gone.

My dreams call for you from the depths of sleep,
And it's no wonder because it's my heart you keep.
Your eyes haunt me, still, in my dreams,
Beckoning to me, and then leaving, it seems.

I wake up calling your name,
And in the daylight it's more of the same.
I feel guilty because I want to move on...
Yes, my heart's missed you since you've been gone.

I wish you were here to hold me all night,
You'd kiss away my teardrops, to my delight,
I'd smile and whisper I love you...
But you aren't here... so what do I do?

I cry myself to sleep every night,
Pray to God to keep you tonight,
Dream about you all the night long,
Yes, my heart's missed you since you've been gone.

I know heartache can crush the spirit, but time will heal it and your heart will love again.
Hold on in there, it will get better.

excellant poem, loved it.

It's these kind of dreams we never want to end. Time heals a broken heart. Good write
