Dusk Is Approaching....

11:14:2014....

Dusk is approaching.
A clear moon light night is encroaching.
My eyes are limp and weary.
But the sights are so beautiful they leave me teary.
Besides I can't pull off now.
I force a gentle gaze from under my brow.
The sunlight skimming the tree tops.
I watch a baby ape as he skips and hops.
The night beckons.
The stars are starting to appear in the heavens.
I have a hundred miles or so to go.
An owl looks down as if to know.
The night creatures are coming out.
Some would make the girls scream and shout.
Snakes and spiders.
Bats swooping down like stealth gliders.
Between the trees an elephant disappears.
I hope he avoids the trapper's sneers.
The stress and tiredness of the day has left me.
With all the beauty there is to see.
Over the crest I push on.
Don Williams in the background I sing along.
Down in the valley I see the light.
Victory Falls what a sight.
Here I can rest my weary bones.
Gather a few stones.
To pack around a camp fire.
Break away from the communication wire.
Enjoy a whisky and take in the night sounds.
Here is no neighbours and their hounds.
Just peace and tranquility.
This is how one achieves serenity.

This has an enjoyable flow with enchanting imagery. Your tales of Africa make for some good reading. I may even have to bust out my "Planet Earth" dvd's. It's been awhile.

Keep it up!
