Sirens wail through black night. Lives intersect at crosswalks Midnight crawlers under moon shadows. Glasses in the windows Pink cocktail matches lush lipstick. Unbuttoned flannel like maybe the sting of autumn air will tingle tongue and throat like 80 proof liquid silk. Toes twitch, eyes beg silently For a splash of ethanol over cracked knuckles. Glass lips. Something (else). Sleep will come as a raging freight whistle drowns out the tick, tick, tick of a restless heart.
