When I look back on my life
I've done good things and I've done bad But at the end of the day I did the best I could do with what I had
Open the book and look inside Secrets, lies now there's nothing to hide My regrets, my mistakes They mean nothing no more
On the next part of my journey Where ever it may be I'll take the knowledge learnt on earth And teach others to see How precious life is and not to waste it But embrace it
When you look back at your life, will your story be fulfilling? Did you make a difference? Or where you to busy chilling?
Did anyone say they loved you? Did people think of you and smile? Did they say you where special? There'll be no one like you here for a while
When they look back at your life Do they shed a tear? Or do they smile and laugh? Thinking I'm glad I met (him/her) It's a pity you're not still here
But when you go, you go And as the sun sets each day and night falls Please look up at the stars and say, I'll see you again one day foreshore By banjosandwitch 24/12/14

I like the sentiment of this.
We speak of love and remembrance
This does not come by happenchance
Lives lived and died in various hues
Tell the stories of me and you
A little free verse you have inspired. |
