At the same period a gift is left at the door, It usually has 365 pages, Every once in a while a little more, There are always 12 chapters, but the topics have always changed, It used to be that way anyway, Not so much since I've aged, My first couple were wild and filled with glory Now it's always the same, Different characters but the same story, The last 3 gifts especially have been a bit wasteful, They were almost equally bad, But still I am grateful, Grateful but doubtful, I cannot deny, I really hope the book I got a couple weeks ago, Will finally be the one to stop making me cry.

skipping through, the pages they say, as we do,
skipping on by, a little bit, one by one, as we do
There are so many things we do not read from the past that might stridently present something good,
If one were to read.
The future, could she be a collective, a convention,
Less than understood, an ironic twist of fate?
A circle comes and goes out of sight, out of mind,
and returns again and no one is the wiser I suppose.
But, this is still a good thought, your poem is. It must be, I say!
Peace! |
