I am this way,
because of you and him.
He killed me with his secrets
and you held my head under water
as I tried to swim
I never told on him,
but you know what he has done.
I can see it in everything you do.
You punished me for his faults
so all i could do was run.
I hid as you screamed
My world is mine alone
You cannot touch me here
You cannot hurt me ever again
I kicked you off your thrown
I am supposed to love you
But I couldn't possibly hate you more
You aren't supposed to betray me like that
Your heart is devoid of unconditional love
And once that used to hurt me to the core
I am free now
At least I am free of you
But I am left with these demons
I don't think I will ever fully understand
your hatred for me or your reasons

Reminds me that when life is cruel, it always leaves scars.
Not visible but deep rooted in the mind where we alone feel their effects.
Moving on isn't easy but it can be done.
