Waiting for a Miracle

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Sunday, 25th January 2015 @ 10:52:54 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Sitting here waiting on a miracle
waiting each and every day
Not going to give up
until some peace finds its way

Yeah, I've been lost for years
just gliding...going along for the ride
Haven't been done up in so long
forgotten what it feels like to be alive

I'm here at that half century mark
and my heart and soul feel so frozen
Wondering what I am doing with this life
and these meandering and tangled paths I have chosen

I understand this all too well.
Great poem.
I'm nearing 52 and I lived my life for everyone else including my customers.
Time is running out and this year is going to be a big change. I wish you well!

Hippy...How wonderful to see you back 'home'. I really like this emotive piece, straight from the heart and daring to ask yourself 'what's next?' Nothing changes without your bold voice to speak up...Great job.

Love the poem, very sad tho'... but I feel the same way.

It is a long, long way
But a miracle is to happen, I do believe in that.
Never give up - I hear you!!

Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to the 'hump' decade - if you're planning to live till 100, like me! You spoke to my soul with this one, L. It's a good time to take stock and repurpose yourself. New year, new phase of life. Thanks for posting, it gave me a kick up the butt I needed this morning. Sxo

Very nice poem. Rhythm reminds me a lot of Langston Hughes. Definitely a sorrowful truth eloquently expressed.

Grand introspective write. A time for taking stock and trying to keep the path ahead less tangled.
