I remember watching you with him Couldn't understand how you could just leave without a kiss good bye... or a touch... or just a few words of love.
I thought to myself (all puffed up and full of mirth) THAT will never happen to our love Such a beautiful flower we have It will always bloom
Little did I know that the bloom can wither stay attached and just linger there...dead but still joined Still hanging on to the only thing it knows...
and the tangled angry thorns still
prick me.

This is one of those well-executed emotive writes that I read where the final line just hangs in the air after...It steals your breath for a moment. Painful to read (and experience), but you really nailed the emotions.
