I wish to thank you friend But not "you" in the sense Of any individual No, for that is not what you are
You yourself are massive But your inner-self is small Like a complex organism With a vast expanse of cells
To you, I owe a number Of near-endless thanks For the ways you've touched me And for all my highs and lows
For the scrunching of my smile And the wiggling of my toes For the shaping of who I am And who to become
For all the places in which we've been And in all of those to come Your kind words and inspirations To exceed my limitations
The resolutions of your efforts Won't soon come to end For I cannot forget you, For you are everyone, my friend

Your inspiration is very fortunate for us... everyone here. Niiiiiice!
In answer to your author's note about seeing poetry out of the corner of your eye as parody, nope.
Thank you for another enjoyable read.

As Tim said, another wonderful poem. I enjoyed reading this, and will keep on the look out for you, Heathen.

This made me smile. Such a beautiful and kind read. Quite soulful, I would say. :) |

Not in keeping with your observational perspective; but such a delightful departure! This embraces that which is life to most of us, affection and friendship.
I knew an analytical writer that found his kindness and warmth at midlife. He quit his job and became a writer!
You are flirting with some major changes here! I like the dimension it gives your writing. Perhaps you should encourage this visiting muse.
