valentines day is here
and I think it should be known
you should share your special feelings
with the one you call your own
some of us no longer have
the mate that shares our heart
but still we have the will
and the wisdom to play the part
to share a simple card
with the simple words that say
I hope that you find happiness
on this valentines day
a little box of candy
a dozen roses in a vase
they may just find a smile
or a very warm embrace
so no matter what your plans are
and no matter what you do
my words are simply saying
happy valentines day to you

With such a strong-sounding name, I too would be a hot-shot poet. ;)
Nice sentiments here. I like the first two stanzas most of all, and the second one is my favorite. :) |

what... someone said, well just look at me.
Everyday is Valentines day for an old guy like me.
The parchment is old and so too is the will to love
that will never see love die after it dies
Love lives on always forever
I always laugh in the card store, all these mixed up folks looking for a card, or buying flowers, the best freshest roses. I guess it's limitless
Must just be
like commercials
