I sat quietly pulling the corners from the edges Ohhh seep
Deep
Baaaa Baaaa and
Bleet Speak
B. L. Ee. Ting Sheep Deep
Here I stand on the dividing line of two worlds I feel the sand beneath my feet And the water lapping at my face n human????race As each wave pulls it seems to want to pull me with it
I I I want to stay Iii want to go Breathe in the salt air and ohh How I sigh When the one from my dreams is sitting right next to me And I still don't know what to say
I am in my very own well of storm water Up to my neck What the. My feet burn with desire and sand The water rushes over my head And I am in aww An aww that fits my rowing boat perfectly The aww that I have been endlessly throughout time Timelessly searching for
The aww waters rush over my space My face And I am oh so awww Home My father will turn me back into a mermaid tonight And I will be with my sisters again

"Pulling the corners from the edge"
This makes me think of a song from folk singer Jeffrey Lewis, "The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane"
He mentions lifting up the carpet, and seeing stars/the universe.
Well, I took that thought, and I'm picturing you sitting in a rowboat on a stretch of water, pulling off the corner of the horizon like a blanket or curtain. Now you're on a rowboat, sitting on the dividing line between a nice beach with people swimming, frolicking, and a chaotic world of dreams and your inner mind. The bleating being the panicking of the people, now racing to get to shore, panicking from the sight of the world being torn apart. As you peel the curtain of horizon into your boat, it weighs so much, it causes the boat to immediately start sinking. Your gazing into the world you know not so well, but yet know and love, and are mesmerized by. Before you know it you're sinking, and soon you will drown. As the water engulfs your head, and your fate seeming certain, your imagination of being/becoming a mermaid blends with your real-world conception of going to heaven to see your ancestors.
Is this what any of the poem is? Is it truly you and not a narrator? I couldn't tell you, but it's an awesome thought. :)
Thanks for the well-done abstract read. It was fun to use the imagination. :D |

Great write. A bit further out there than my very last poem posted, but a great mind can write a great abstract poem. Keep it up.

Ahh dreams! My take is they are alternative realities. We live in more places than we know. Mermaid indeed.
