They Are Coming For Me

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Tuesday, 31st March 2015 @ 03:22:07 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A laser bright light
From the deep dark black sky of night
Shines abruptly through my bedroom window
Upon my bed the light ignites

It breaks the still calm of the heavy air
Something appears not quite right
My thoughts race out of control
Paralyzing me with a chilling fright

They are coming for me
I know
They are coming for me
You see

The malevolent bright swirling lights
Call out and beckon my soul
Preparing me for an endless flight

All gravity lost
Without control
There is no escape
From those who wear the black capes

They have come for me
I know
They have come for me
You see

A blackened skull of death up from the mist
Is revealed to me
I am trapped by its power
Unable to resist

With a horrific smile, it did proclaim
If I had lived my life right
I would not be
Satan's delight

You are NOT satan's delight...this poem points to an understanding of the nature of right and wrong...by virtue of writing this, you have exhibited an inclination toward the light, and satan (we'll call him) cannot claim the aware. There is no candle of darkness to be lit and banish the light; is this not so?

I leave satan without an upper case 'S' for a reason. That is merely a label. A name we have assigned as 'Chief of the Dark Entities".

You have the power within yourself to banish the dark. How? Do not fear it. We'll call it a 'soul'. You have an inter-dimensional spark of energy in you that is connected to the universe. There is a battle for your spark taking place....right now. For mine as well. It never ceases.

The key is in knowing this and obeying what your 'soul' instinctively imparts to you relating to the maintenance of its landlord. YOU are the landlord of your soul. That's why when you do something destructive, you inherently know what you did was wrong.

Anyway, I could write a book here.

Great job and keep writing. You will only help your soul, which will only help your body. There's MUCH more to poetry then mere words.

Wow, that is pretty wild...thank you for the backstory on it. Great use of imagery and the reader/'/s imagination here.
