The stars reflect the dreams of yesterday
Yet a heart won't believe in what they say
In the instant a blessed soul touches the sun
Today's forgotten as tomorrows have begun
Like the ocean washes the dry shore clean
Dreams become promises true believers gleam
In the second that a soured mind does give up
A flowering answer arrives overfilling life's cup
Beyond the certainty of past triumphs and trials
Within the footsteps of today's fragile miles
Lies the whisper of an unclaimed tomorrow
Beckoning all towards its laughter and sorrow
I'll listen to the words tomorrow must say
Ignoring the heart pounding fear of the day
I'll march forward with no glance to the past
To where I'm meant to be, home at long last
