Unspoken Promises

You intertwine your finger with mine
and the moment feels perfect
because it's what I've always wanted

There maybe unspoken words tucked
between our fingers and I need to know
if what I'm thinking is the truth

I need to know what this means to you
even if it means nothing or even
if it means that you'll let go

You get angry when I finally ask you
saying that none of it means anything
that I mean nothing to you

Even though it hurts to hear it
I'm still happy I asked because I know
that I deserve more than unspoken words
]
