crave

Contributed by Jigget on Tuesday, 21st April 2015 @ 05:52:27 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

crave

i patterned myself after a disaster
that was my first mistake
nothing but a travesty draped in a tragedy
that ruins and rots while i wait

consumed by this hole that just grows
trapped in a troubling bubble of Crave
a prisoner of my own smile, defiled
destined to dance to the grave

i saw that the path was winding towards madness
but doggedly stuck to the plan
i gnaw at the last of what once was my tongue
and choke on whatever i can

i laugh at the way the tears cascade
a shadow with shine-unscorn
i cringe at my lack of the appropriate fear
i wonder if underground's warm

If your poem speaks of taking the wrong path and sticking to it, you certainly wouldn't know it by your gift for writing.
Being strong enough not to give in to emotion "I cringe at my lack of appropriate fear" is a talent that serves you well. It is called courage.

The crave will remain
but
dodge that path of madness
when you see it.
