Writing for you
not about you
plagued by another heart
that beats
beyond our bed
nights that led to passion
only in my head
and you wonder
when asked
how you live with the poet
when others stake a claim
to my heart
if only in a poem
And because I rest my eyes
and walk with you
doesn't mean that others
cannot follow my gait
hoping to fill my delusion
when you are gone
But when you ask
"who's that about?"
I can't help but smile
and say to you
my dear
"who do you think?"
