I was created as a representation together, my colors are beautiful and bright I am held high with pride oh what a beautiful sight
I have been carried into many battles some have been lost and some have been won My representation is freedom earned by the sacrifices of a mother, father, daughter or son
I am the American Flag honoring your salutes or hand over heart I represent your strength together, this country we will not allow to fall apart
Keep your honor in our country stand tall when terror comes our way Sing our National Anthem loud let everyone hear what our pride has to say
My colors resemble bloodshed they also resemble bandages for wounds of war They resemble strongly the soldiers lives lost on any foreign shore
Nobody should ever turn their pride on me Trying to remove me from schools is something we just cant let be
To lie me on the ground and walk upon me with your feet Its such a disgrace to our country but the honor of our Veterans, you will never defeat
Lately, people have chosen to desecrate me its a shame they feel this way If they do not honor my representation then they should find another country where they can stay

A difficult subject you have tackled here.
Moving to another country is like divorcing your history. There are disappointments, misconceptions, expectations unmet in this new place.
But if it is to be your home; treat it with respect;
defend your decision.
If you are not proud of your choice; make a better one. You are free to make mistakes here--just make them quietly, and be glad you can. |
