Chapped

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Saturday, 23rd May 2015 @ 07:45:18 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The past is the past, but I can't let it go
To the gate, my bag was too big I know
Why can't I just snap my fingers, and it will be 4:30
Hey bartender how about a mimosa, I'm thirsty

You bet I'm chapped

If not its brother, the airport is the DMV's cousin
All these cell phones, tablets and junk buzzing
I swear, as I sit at this bar, I'm going insane
A personalized, self imposed migraine

Yep, I'm still chapped

Do I have a waitress?
This mimosa sucks, who made this?
What the **** is this music?
Hey buddy, your voice, lose it

Still red

Wait, I see a tender and give him a half hearted wave
I hate the way the way people in this place behave
Wait we're supposed to order from these tablets
A $14.00 old fashioned - yeah, why don't you shove it!

And I'm more chapped than when I began

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
