The Free Bird

Contributed by Deidra_Carmichael on Tuesday, 2nd June 2015 @ 08:12:01 PM in AEST
Topic: didactic

How intriguing it is your interest in him
In one flirting with another besides yourself
No worries, a mistress she cannot be
For commitment to each other you did not guarantee

Fancy to meet her? Impossible you see
For this madame does not belong to a body
Yet her traits are easy to observe
They are meant to disrupt and divide people
Off the path they most certainly swerve

Deceptive speech is her forte
Feeding your darling the words you want to hear
Her hands guide his eyes
Placing him in front of lustful temptation

Perhaps her worst trait is her hold on you
You've compromised values for pleasure
Great expectations for paradise lost
You believe that it is all in good fun

Yet you'll grow quite remorseful if you stay here
Your suitor will pull the rug from underneath you
And fly away as all free birds do
Take this wisdom for it will profit you much
Find yourself one who is loyal
One who seeks after your best interests
For love always triumphs over carnal compliance
