Life Is A Roller Coaster

Contributed by jamesstockdale on Monday, 22nd June 2015 @ 09:46:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

What awaits you
Is simply unknown
Today a King
Tomorrow void of a throne

Life is a roller coaster
Many ups and downs
As soon as you're upright
You're turned upside down

The direction you choose
Is often a short cut
To avoid the truth
Deny what's known

Moving on, unscathed
Is the ultimate goal
Get through it all
Before it takes a heavy toll

Very true. A lot of us have turbulent lives that toss us everywhere. It's much like a roller coaster. All we can do is hold on for dear life and pray for guidance.

Great write.

James: Lie your analogy! Those hairpin turns will throw you for a "loop" (pardon pun).
Think your 4th line was meant to end in throne instead of thrown??Unless you refer to being thrown from the roller coaster!

I try to avoid roller coasters!
Taking the trail;
of a lesser scale;
knowing to fail;
would be to derail!

Fun little comparison you've taken us on! Seat belts anyone?
