Symbiotic Love-Life and Death

Contributed by ingeniusidiot on Sunday, 19th July 2015 @ 12:47:46 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

For love dies not a normal death
The eternal heart worries not
For under gentle breeze and heavy breath
Compassion and anguish both time has wrought

As sleeping eyes wander aimlessly
From within the depths of the heart rages an insatiable fire
As across vast miles like that of a boundless sea
Hands reach out and voices cry due to such desire

Until eternity ceases and ocean waves no longer caress their shores
From the recesses of an infinitesimal mind the soul is made aware of its plight
As mere mortals are shaken to deepest fathom of their cores
And midnights enduring hand strips away sight

As a calling card from a shadowed depth is sealed with a kiss
The sun no longer explodes with the essence of vitality
And nothing is left behind for a lifeless heart to miss
Bringing into focus a persons mortality

Nessa and Rich

Good job guys!! Co-writes used to be a regular occurrence on here, but it has been awhile since I recall seeing one.
Smooth transition back and forth; you two mesh well.

Lovely poem! Thanks for sharing.

As I read this, it made me think of how some think soul mates die and then meet each other again in a next life. Whether intentional or not, that's what came to mind as I read this beautifully crafted poem.

Great stuff, you two.

Thanks,

Tim

Great poem. I like the style of this and the cosmic sense it gives to mortality.
