It has been eight long years Since I first met you You turned a bright future To doom and gloom You clouded the sky Gave little hope To you and I I loved you once As time passed by I looked for many reasons To say farewell and goodbye The one I cared for I knew not at all The time I spent with you Kept me ready for a fall A story yet told Could have been so full Looking back at time gone by I wonder what I saw In you and I My dreams and hopes How grand they were Like a puff of smoke Disappeared within thin air And that was all that needed wrote

sometimes people have their own agenda and we are
used, when things don't work out and it's good for them
they come back 'cause they 'need' us again, i fell for this
once, twice, never thrice! lol! this is beautifully penned,

It took me a long time to figure out that if I kept on doing what I was doing, I would keep on getting what I was getting. I went the opposite of all my hormones and instincts; picked a quiet, reserved guy..and got a whole to more than I probably deserved.
Given the choice, I would rather be loved than love.
I enjoy the full benefit of someone who thinks HE got the best of the deal!
The truth is: I am the lucky one! Say what you will, in 30 years we have not raised our voices or disrespected each other. I define love differently than I did yesterday. Write your own definition; God after all, helped us create erasers! |

Humans are very complex and hard to figure out. I've often wondered in my last marriage, what happened? But then, maybe I just think too much.
Anywho, cool poem. Thank you for an enjoyable read.

I like how you ended this...Perhaps a little bittersweet, but every experience is a lesson learned.

Beautifully written! I could feel the pain and disappointment. I know the feeling. Good luck moving on from this point. *hugs*
